It was time to replace the 38 year old rough stained sisal/jute rope (1st photo) in my log cabin with clean new hemp rope (2nd photo). I'm very pleased with this hemp rope...soft and easy to install.Bought this for our cat stand to rewrap the legs with rope on them. The cats love it and it does not seem to tear up as fast as the rope from the hardware store. Also with it being a natural fibber not as worried about the cats eating the fibbers they pull off.Very pleased with the quality.Great product. Finished my project and it turned out great,Made tug toys for my dog. Didn’t last very long but my dog loved itI love the rope and it arrived quickly after order was placed.I haven't seen rope like this in decades. Soft, soft, soft. It's so nice to see a traditional rope again, both one of the best rope fibers (hemp), and a traditional layup and not a braid. I have nothing against the latter at all and use braided ropes all the time, but a 3-strand rope feels and acts differently in the hand.I opted for the quarter-inch line. Another reviewer noted that untying a knot in their sample was easy. I found that to be less so in the smaller line. A bowline pulled taut could be undone without a fid, but only with difficulty. Had the rope been wet, it would probably not have been possible. That's not a negative comment, BTW, just an observation. Tight knot holding is a distinct advantage in many circumstances.The soft lay is quite nice, but I would love to see a harder lay in the same fiber. In the appropriate size it would be a comfortable sheet line in a small sailboat.Great stuff and my thanks to Ravenox for participating in the review program as this is rope I will be buying and using.This rope works great. The rope is good quality and worth the price.
